One thing you probably didn't know about Rod Begbie

How many other Scots Red Sox fans do you know?

How I met Rod Begbie

After subscribing to Rod’s snarky blog for about six months, I kept running into him at the Boston WebInno meetups, where he hurled snark from the back of the room in his unmistakable accent. We’ve since started a joint blogging project with fellow WebInno contrarian glenn mcdonald.

Why I want to meet Hybernaut

Because he helped me to thing about tagging in ways that I would never have been able to do by myself.

Why I want to meet Hybernaut

Brian’s been one of the best devs to have in the Upcoming.org community. He’s always giving great suggestions, adopting our new features, and helping us stay on track. It would be great to meet up with him and find out what his vision is like for the future of web2.5.

Why I want to meet getluky

Gordon’s been coding away on upcoming.org, and even better—making his PHP tagging library available as open source.

Why I admire cal henderson

Cal (together with the Flickr team) has implemented one of the best open APIs available today. His engagement with the Flickr developer community on the flickr-apis developer list over the last year has been a key to the success of the API, and Flickr itself.

Why I admire Andy Baio

In addition to setting the standard for personal linkblogging, Andy’s responsible for upcoming.org, which I use every day. I like what he does and how he does it.

Why I admire Ryan King

He’s the King!

Within the next year I’m sure that business will take me to the Bayarea, and I hope that Ryan will be throwing one of his famous impromptu parties that week.

How I met Chris Messina

Chris was passing through Cambridge during his transition from civicspace to Flock, and invited locals to a Drupal/CivicSpace meetup at the Berkman. It was a very interesting group and an informative time.

Who knew at the time that he’d be a Web 2.0 Superstar six months later?

Why I like kellan

As the author of Magpie RSS and the maintainer of perl RSS, Kellan has been the RSS go-to guy for an entire generation. Now he’s living in Boston and coding up a Web 2.0 storm.

When we met earlier this week, Kellan had some interesting ideas about what a Web 2.0 calendaring system should do for me.

Oh, and he’s one of the nicest guys you’ll ever meet.
